Does This Always Happen?

Malam hari. Saat itu kami tak sengaja menemukannya di sebuah laman yang cukup terkenal. Sebuah instrumentalia yang cukup menggetarkan. Namun justru ada hal lain yang menarik perhatiannya.

"Kenapa di sini ada komentar yang bilang dia sedih waktu lihat foto singa sendirian? Biasa aja, tuh," katanya.

Sejenak aku diam. "Aku juga sedih."

"Kenapa memang?"

"Itu kan singa jantan. Kamu nggak pernah tahu soal singa?"

"Nggak. Kenapa, sih?"

Aku menghela napas. "Kamu tahu, kan, singa jantan itu penguasa kelompok?"

"Tahu."

"Seharusnya dia nggak pernah keluar dari kelompoknya. Intinya, pasti ada singa-singa lain di sekitar dia. Singa betina."

"Terus?" tanyanya dengan polos.

Aku tertawa dalam hati melihat keluguannya. "Jadi aneh kalau ada singa jantan jalan sendirian malam-malam. Mana kelompoknya?"

"Nggak tahu."

"Makanya sedih kan lihatnya. Harusnya dia punya kelompok, tapi malah jalan sendirian."

"Oh, gitu?"

"Iya. Aku juga jadi sedih lihatnya. Bayangin rasanya yang harusnya sama kelompoknya, tapi malah sendirian malam-malam."

Aku terdiam. Terbuai mendengarkan nada-nada itu. 

Dia juga terdiam.

Ada sesuatu yang menggelitik perasaan dan pikiranku tentang metafor singa jantan itu. Seekor singa jantan yang gagah dan bergelar raja hutan yang sangar, ternyata dapat memancing sebuah sisi yang sensitif di antara kami.

Bahkan seorang raja pun dapat merasa sendiri. 

Mungkin dia juga belum pernah tahu sudah berapa lama kesendirian yang aku lewati. Terlalu banyak. Terlalu banyak hingga mulai menakutkan buatku. Sampai dia masuk dalam lingkaran kehidupanku dan kehadirannya terasa begitu berarti buatku saat itu.

Seorang teman. Sahabat. Saudara.

Singa jantan itu mengingatkanku bagaimana rasanya ketika aku sendiri dan membuatku bersyukur aku bertemu dengannya saat itu.

Aku bertanya-tanya, apakah singa itu juga merasakan hal yang sama? Apa dia akhirnya berhasil menemukan kawanannya? Teman-temannya? Sekuat apapun dia, kesendirian itu jauh lebih kuat dan mampu menggoyahkan jiwanya.

"Tapi lagunya bagus," ujarnya memecah lamunanku.

"Bagus gimana?"

"Coba dengerin. Serasa ingat masa lalu gitu, nggak? Kayak ada tanggung jawab yang belum selesai." 

Aku menangkap ada masa lalu yang belum terurai dari perkataannya. Tapi aku tak mau memaksanya mengatakannya.

Aku tersenyum. "Iramanya memang sedih. Iya, kayak ingetin ada kesalahan di masa lalu kita yang perlu diperbaiki. Pada dasarnya instrumental ini keren."

Dia tersenyum simpul. "Oh, jadi itu makanya gambar video ini dibilang sedih?"

"Iya. Suasananya jadi kebangun. Denger sambil lihat gambarnya kan sedih."

Kami mendengarkan lagu itu sampai selesai. Ada sepotong masa lalu yang membayangi hati kami masing-masing. 

Lalu dia tersenyum lagi. "Sudah. Cari yang lain lagi, yuk."

Aku menatapnya. Mungkin terdengar aneh, tapi ada sesuatu yang membuatku ingin merangkulnya. Aku ingin mengatakan bahwa bagaimanapun masa lalu kita, sekarang kita di sini. Kita tidak sendirian seperti singa jantan yang menyedihkan itu. Ada aku di sampingnya, dan ada dia di sampingku.

Tetapi aku hanya terpaku. Kata-kata itu akhirnya terpendam juga.

Aku hanya tersenyum dan mengangguk. Dia tidak akan pernah tahu betapa naif dan lugu dirinya dibalik pribadinya yang boleh dibilang, menarik. Menarik untuk diselami lebih dalam.

Lagu itu masih aku simpan. Ya, dia benar. 

Lagu itu memang mengingatkan masa lalu kita. Ada sesuatu yang membuatku ingin mengulang masa lalu itu. Ada sesuatu yang ingin kupertanggungjawabkan dan kuperbaiki di masa lalu itu.
